After getting a diagnosis for Autism or a related developmental disorder, many families may feel overwhelmed confused or they may not know what steps to take next.

That’s why we have you covered! Below is our simplified guide on beginning ABA services.

1.  Seek a formal diagnosis.

If your child is showing signs of Autism, it is important to schedule a visit with your doctor and let them know your concerns, and that you would like to/ like your child to be assessed for ASD or a related disorder. Your GP may refer you to a psychologist, psychiatrist, neurologist or developmental pediatrician to complete ASD testing.

2. Receive Diagnosis

During testing, your diagnosing clinician may do a variety of different tests from questionnaires to observation to determine if an ASD diagnosis is appropriate.

3. Receive a referral.

After testing, and if your child receives a diagnosis for ASD. Speak to your physician regarding next steps and if ABA Therapy is appropriate.  If it is, your insurance provider may require a referral from your diagnostic clinician for ABA Services. If you are planning to use insurance, verify your insurance coverage for in network and/or out of network coverage.

4. Choose A Provider.
